Over 1,000 construction workers at the main venue of the Asian Youth Games were continuing their work during the May Day holiday, Shantou Olive Channel reported.

Workers were pouring concrete at Zone Two, Three and Nine. To ensure construction quality, 16 workers divided into two teams have been working on the pouring continuously for 62 hours.

"Concrete pouring should be done non-stop. Once the workers stop pouring, the concrete will freeze and produce cracks," said Yu Zhengfei, one of the workers.

"The schedule is tight. But we are all happy to work for the country," said Xie Zongquan, another worker.

Currently, the gymnasium of the main venue has been topped off, and the stadium will be topped off soon.
